My name is Luca. I am a photographer, videographer, and adventurer from New York State, and my primary goal in this website is to showcase forgotten history left to the elements. I am twenty years old, and I have been intrigued by abandoned buildings since I was a preteen. Eventually, at around 15 years old, I discovered some old resorts in the Catskill Mountains of NY, and this instantly sparked my interest in abandoned buildings. Soon enough, I discovered the many abandoned state hospital facilities around my area, and I sought out to explore as many as possible. Exploring abandoned state hospitals became a part of me, and I began to learn about the history of each facility in great detail while learning a lot from my new found friends who knew more than me about these intriguing old facilities. Eventually, I started focusing more on the photography aspect of exploring, and this was where I began to set my goals to document each place as thoroughly as I could. More recently, I've also gained a love for roadside finds such as abandoned houses, abandoned cars, retro diners, and anything else interesting that I have come across on my roadtrips. Every abandoned property I visit has been left in a different condition, and has decayed differently overtime depending on when it was abandoned, depending on its location, structural stabilization, and human traffic. I am thankful to find myself with a lot of free time, and I spend a majority of my time traveling and fulfilling my passion of documenting abandoned places and I showcase these places in the way in which I see them with my own eyes. My growing interest in abandoned buildings led to my growing interest in photography, which then led to my interest in photographing nature, and everyday things which I am currently working on building albums for. I guess I can say one thing truly led to another for me. From having the desire to explore cool old abandoned buildings, I discovered something deeper that I truly love to do. It got me out of the house adventuring around. Whether it’s abandoned buildings, nature trails, scenic nature views, old towns, or anything else, i'll work to find a photo out of it. Overall, State Hospital facilities will likely always be my main goal to photograph, however, I want to capture many aspects of the world that many people overlook. As I grow, and as I travel, I make sure to keep my eyes open to the big, and the small things around me. And I'll do my best to capture it through the lens.
